Relaxation & Restaurants Chilling Out Enjoy quality
time in the Jacuzzi with a glass of the local 'black wine' Cahors
Malbec. You overlook the grand River Lot and perhaps watch

others enjoying themselves on the river or even take part in a leisurely
canoe or boat trip along the river.
France is Food
Eating out is also a great pastime in the Vallée du Lot. Locations
range from the small but excellent quality Pizza Parlours to quite
grand restaurants serving high quality French cuisine.

Within a few minutes walking distance with no worries about that extra
glass or two of wine, there are many other cafes and restaurants within Puy
L'Eveque :
The Stromboli Pizza Parlor, within walking distance, serves crispy
pizzas ranging from around 6.50€
for a small Margerhita
to12€ for a large House Special loaded with everything you can think
of; or if you like sizzling beef lasagne from 8€ euros to the
specialities of the house such as entrecote steaks or veal escallops
at around 15€ euros. They also provide a very efficient
take away system.

Les Battelliers a superb wine bar on the quay, seating inside
or out
overlooking the river providing tapas and wine.
Le Pigeonnier Creperie with pizzas. On the river bank
overlooking the village. Very reasonable prices, seating inside or
out.
Walk or use boat or canoes and tie up in front of bar by the quay
returning up the river by moonlight.
Hotel Henry. Excellent Traditional French food, eating inside
or out in a beautiful French garden. Family owned and run for over 100
years. Great prices.
Le Mercardial. Friendly Bar restaurant, seating in old square
in
centre of village. Take away Pizzas, regular music evenings.
Hotel Bellevue. Perched on top of the cliff above the village,
has two
restaurants, one seating inside overlooking the river and valleys,
expensive but top quality for a romantic or special evening.
Alternatively the Bistro, definitely worth visiting. Excellent food
around 25 Euros for dinner, plus wine.
La Trufferie Bar and restaurant, traditional style. Sports TV
in bar.
Pool table, good place in evenings for youngsters wanting to mix with
our village locals. The Local

restaurant
(by the ladies Murat).
Recently filmed for TV Presentation by Australian author Mary Moody who
lives here part time. Really worth a visit. French food served rural style.
Menu complete from 12€ including unlimited wine. Really warm welcome,
English spoken.
La Guingette.
In a lovely situation on the river bank in open country. Great
food, very popular. Pizzas, French cuisine, reasonable prices.
Very friendly owner, speaking good English. Swings for children.
La Terrace at Grezels. Excellent menu, great service. Fixed price menu.
La Recreation at Les Arques. Excellent restaurant included in
the book "From Here You Cant See Paris" by Michael Sanders.
Definitely worth a visit, haute cuisine. Beautiful situation. Le
Clau del Loup
(haute cuisine|) still only 17€ for a four course luncheon repas with
wine and often has music
evenings.
Puy L'Eveque throughout the summer plays host to lots of festivals
both music, wine or theatre, even Shakespeare! In August a
spectacular fire work display celebrates the English leaving the area
in the Middle Ages. Book a meal at Le Pigeonnier and sit and
watch the display whilst enjoying a meal. The Cahors Wine festival
takes place every year in the village and rustic meals
follow, with
singing and dancing beside the river till very late!
